S3IDF Wins the World Clean Energy Award « Change a light bulb and change the world: "Maryland based Small-Scale Sustainable Infrastructure Development Fund, Inc. (S3IDF) wins the prestegous World Clean Energy Awards. S3IDF provides environmentally and fiscally friendly energy solutions to the poor as a way assisting to end the cycle of poverty. They currently have projects in 5 areas; energy & electricity, water & sanitation, information communication technology, transportation, and small & medium enterprises. One project that they are involved in is providing reliable power to 18 shops in a small village in India. They use biomass and CFLs to power the businesses when the power fails and to reduce power consumption"
