MySA.com: Commentary

MySA.com: Commentary: "Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs, or CFLs. This advance is fantastic and cheap. The CFLs use one-fifth the energy of incandescents and last much longer, with no real sacrifice in lighting quality. There are CFLs for almost every lighting application. A small investment to replace standard lighting with CFLs pays back quickly in reduced power usage. Increase the temperature setting of thermostats by one or two degrees in summer and decrease it by one or two degrees in the winter. You will quickly adapt to the change and ultimately won't feel any discomfort. The energy savings is significant. Turn off lights and fans when you aren't using them. Recycle. This is easy to do and has a huge impact."
