The European Union is phasing out incandescent bulbs. Many manufacturers will soon stop marketing traditional bulbs here. CFLs use 75% less electricity to achieve the same amount of illumination, and they last longer. This one market transformation alone can reduce the St. Louis region’s overall electricity demand by about 10%."
