Solar power in Bama!

Alabama Power Rate Purchase of Alternate Energy
With the lifting of the insurance requirements, Alabama Power is now buying excess power generated by their customer's solar photovoltaic systems. The first two tours feature grid tie PV systems utilizing this rate PAE. As the power rates keep rising, the savings increase. Logic would indicate that PAE rates will increase as well.
Solar Home Tours
Energize Alabama is sponsoring three different tours this year as part of the American Solar Energy Society annual Solar Tour.
Corner

Tour City or Community: Corner

Tour Presented by: Energize Alabama
Tour Description: New this year. The15-kilowatt solar PV system consistently generates more electricity than this home uses on a sunny day, sending the excess power back to the grid where it is used to help power neighboring homes.
