LED light bulb concept: An alternative bulb to CFL that lasts 30 years

The LED light bulb concept by frog design is an attempt to provide us with an alternative to the CFLs (compact fluorescent lights). When the project was launched, their goal was to improve the CFL bulb but they ended up designing a new bulb altogether using high-powered LEDs instead. The concept bulb is similar to the regular bulbs, so it will fit in the regular bulb sockets without any problem. The designers of this bulb expect it to last much longer than CFLs.

Finally a bulb that’s more energy efficient that CFLs, without the toxic mercury and will last for 30 years or more. Let’s wait for this bulb to get off the drawing board and enter mass production.

      Sanjay,
The product mentioned in this article is from LED family but not something that’s available in the market right now. Thanks for the comment!
