Water Wastage and short supply of Electricity is a curse in rural India. Many a times, a farmer has to make multiple trips to the farm just to check if there is adequate electricity to turn on the pump to water their crop. Now, technology is used to tackle this manmade crisis.
Micro Technologies (India) has unveiled a device for farmers as a solution to this problem and named it as Micro Jai-Kisan. This device helps farmers reduce water wastage significantly by allowing them remotely manage the motor pumps using a phone.
This GSM technologies based device helps farmer turn the pump on or off and also know the status of it by a phone call from a GSM, STD phone, or by sending an SMS.
Micro Jai-Kisan is user friendly and can be installed easily by simply reading the manual. This device is built using a very simple technology keeping in mind the end user who might be illiterate. Thus the device helps in reducing water leakage, pilferage and wastage as around 25 percent of total Gram Panchayats of any state of India have pump-based drinking or irrigation water supply facilities.
Micro Jai-Kisan is cost effective solution and will be soon available across the country. It also sets an example for corporates to step into future of rural development and Nation building.
