Greenwala - Green Household Products

Greenwala - Green Household Products: "As a person with over 30 years experience in the commercial lighting industry I have learned a lot about the “curly” lamps, and most other energy saving lamps. With the economy the way it is right now I see a lot of people that want to convert the whole house to CFL lamps for the energy saving aspects (lower electric bills), but just can’t afford, or justify the expense of buying all those CFL’s at once. My advice is always the same weather it is a residential or commercial customer – lets just change the lights that will give you the most bang for your buck. As a general rule most fluorescent lamps do not like to be turned on and off many times a day, and when they are turned on they like to stay on for a while. They also don’t like overly hot and humid places, like over the oven or in really steamy bathrooms. They also don’t like really cold places, like outside when it’s below zero, most lamps do have a minimum starting temperature printed right on the box, so if you live someplace really cold you need to pay attention to that if the lamp is going to be exposed to the cold."
