Indiscriminate dumping of waste generated by Bangalore has now acquired menacing proportions. Mavallipura in Yelahanka hobli, on city outskirts, where 600 of the 3,500 tonnes generated daily by the city, has already reported a death in this connection.
Fifteen-year-old Akshay Kumar from Mavallipura died of dengue on July 23. Residents of the village as well as a swanky apartment complex in Mavallipura blamed the dumping of waste for the boy’s death.
