India cuts tax on CFL « Change a light bulb and change the world: "In a Very bold move the government of India is planning on cutting the tax on CFLs. Currently the Value Added Tax (VAT) on CFLs is 12.5% in many states in India. They plan on lowering the tax to 4%. With the current tax CFLs are as high as 10% more expensive then traditional CFLs"
